Busting Excuses
Luxury Boudoir Edition
When nerves creep in, excuses tend to show up wearing very convincing outfits.
Life is busy. Work is wild. Someone always needs a ride somewhere. There’s laundry waiting, calendars overflowing, and about a thousand reasons to put yourself on the back burner. Sometimes it feels easier to say, “I’ll do it later,” or “After I lose 15 pounds,” or “When things slow down,” or even “It’s just not the right time.”
But here’s the truth I want you to hear clearly…
Those excuses don’t mean you aren’t ready. They usually mean you care.
I’m sharing this because I want you to know something important: you don’t need to earn self-love. You don’t need to shrink first, fix anything, or wait for the stars to align. You’re already worthy of being celebrated exactly as you are, right now.
And if even a small part of you has been thinking, “Maybe this is something I should do for me,” that feeling isn’t random. It’s your sign.
“I don’t have enough time for myself.”
That one shows up a lot. And honestly? It makes sense.
When you’re pouring into everyone else all day long, it feels almost impossible to carve out space for yourself. But here’s the part we don’t talk about enough: if you’re running on empty mentally, it becomes so much harder to show up fully for the people who need you. We know that… and yet actually doing something about it is a whole different story.
I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not immune to this either. I make the same excuses. I push through. And sometimes I need someone to look me straight in the face and say, “Slow down. Take a breath. You’re allowed to pause.”
That’s what a boudoir session gives you.
For a few hours, you get to step out of the noise. You get to breathe. You get to be taken care of. No comparing yourself to anyone else. No worrying about what you should look like or how you think others see you. Instead, you get to see where your beauty actually comes from… and that shift alone can lift an incredible amount of mental weight.
So if you’re going to make time for something, let it be this.
Time to feel confident. Time to feel celebrated. Time to be pampered for once.
You deserve that kind of space.
“I’m not where I want to be weight-wise / I don’t fit the media’s idea of a ‘good enough’ size.”
Here’s something that might surprise you. The body type most often portrayed as “ideal” in advertising is naturally possessed by only 5% of American women. Five percent. That means the standard most women are chasing was never designed for most women to reach.
So let me gently ask you this.
Why do you have to be a certain size to love yourself?
Why does your worth get measured against a stranger’s warped idea of a “perfect” body?
And why are you comparing yourself to anyone else, when no two women are built the same?
Having goals is beautiful. Wanting to feel healthier or stronger is amazing. But none of that requires you to hate your body in the meantime. You don’t need to punish yourself to grow. You can love yourself right where you are and still want more for yourself.
Your body deserves to be celebrated now, not someday. A boudoir session isn’t about waiting until you’ve “earned it.” It’s about honoring who you are in this season. And if you want to celebrate again after losing 15 pounds? Even better. That just means you’re honoring your journey at every step, not skipping over the chapters that matter most.
You don’t have to shrink yourself to be worthy of feeling beautiful. You already are.
“I never feel sexy or sensual anymore, so a boudoir shoot must not be for me.”
Actually… this is often the exact reason a boudoir shoot is for you.
When life gets loud, busy, and demanding, it’s easy to lose touch with the parts of ourselves that feel soft, feminine, or sensual. Health changes. Kids. Work. Stress. Responsibilities stacked on responsibilities. None of that means you’ve lost that part of you. It just means it’s been sitting quietly, waiting for a little space to breathe.
A boudoir session isn’t about showing up already confident or already feeling sexy. It’s about rediscovering that spark and letting it come back to life. My job is to guide you, pose you, and show you just how much of that energy still lives inside you. And yes, sometimes that confidence ripples outward… back into your relationship, your marriage, and the way you carry yourself long after the session is over.
And here’s something important to remember: you don’t have to wear “sexy” lingerie if that doesn’t feel like you. Sensual looks different on every woman. Cozy sweaters, button-downs, bodysuits, layers, bare skin, or even simple fabrics can be just as powerful. If you need ideas, I’m always happy to help you brainstorm. You can also check out our Boudoir on a Budget and Beyond page, where we share tons of outfit ideas that don’t require lace or lingerie at all.
You don’t need to feel sexy to book a boudoir shoot.
Sometimes, the shoot is what helps you find it again
“A boudoir shoot is an investment, and I don’t have all the money right now.”
You’re right, it is an investment. But it’s not just in photos. It’s an investment in your confidence, your self-worth, and the way you see yourself moving forward.
And the good news? You don’t have to do it all at once.
To reserve your session, we simply require a session fee. From there, we’ll create a pre-payment plan that works comfortably for you, leading up to your shoot. Many clients choose weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payments, and you can even schedule your session up to October 2026. That flexibility makes it much more manageable and removes the pressure of a large upfront cost.
We accept all major credit cards, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, PayPal Credit, and cash, so you’re never boxed into a single way of doing things. And during your reveal and ordering appointment, if you decide you’d like more than what you’ve prepaid for, you absolutely can.
This experience is meant to feel exciting and empowering, not stressful. And if this is something your heart keeps coming back to, there is a way to make it work!
